Great(er) Pendragon Campaign

Years 513and514
The end of the rebellion

The royal court of Leichester in 513 is full of whispers about the kings restless sleep.
The rest of the year is consumed with preparations for the battle of Terrabill, no, not that Terrabill; the one in Camilliard this time.
King Pellinor has had his troops wintering in Carleon to aid king Arthur. The night befor the battle king Rhyons raiding party is apprahended and the king is chained like a common criminal, highly unusual.
Late that night, Merlin is seen putting a hex on the forces of Ser Lot resulting in their delayed deployment and late arrival to the battle.
For Edar and Eiffin, the battle does not go well, getting caught up with shining warriors, but they manage to withdraw towards noon when they spot the son of a giant, Ser Nero in a foolhardy singel raid on the camp and the two knights quickley rush in and stop him with Eiffin dealing the killing blow to Ser Nero.
By midday, king Lots forces have rallied and also King Pellinor arrives for the second battle that day.
Overwhelmed by the enemy forces Edar tries to empassion himself for his honor but failes horribly and runs of in shame. Fortunately, King Pellinor is able to beat King Lot in single combat and the fighting stops soon after with King Arthur and King Pellinor as the winners.
Edars brother Edern is knighted that year to take over his brothers duties.

The year of 514 is a year of joy as the love between King Arthur and King Leodegrances daughter Gwenyfar is revealed and the wedding is to be held that summer in Londinium.
In the hunt Eiffin is able to track and fell a lesser unicorn earning him a great deal of glory.
In the wedding tourney Eiffin chooses the melee while Edern fights in the joust, both earning a great deal of success and glory.
The last day of the wedding feast, King Arthurs father in law, King Leodegrance gifts him a beautiful big round table. The king is so impressed with the table he founds a new order of knights on the spot.
The Knights of the Round Table.
Current members include the high King Arthur, of course. As well as Ser Brastias and Ser Ector, King Leodegrance, Allain of Escavalon and Cader of Cornwall.

To count yourself among this very elite group of Knights, one has to attain the rank of Knight Famous as well as being a Chivalrous knight and having done something extraordinary.
The order is open to all, both friend and foe.

(den här biten missade jag att skriva ner så du får jättegärna fylla på John)

After the events of Saint Albans we travel on with King Arthur
Feast in Beddegrain.
A squire runs into the feast teliing a tale of a knight blocking a path, challenging everyone who tries to get past him. Arthur waits till the next day.

At night, close to morning, Arthur sleepswalks into a swamp of sorts, where a fountain is located. Next to the fountain stands the challenging knight, whos identity is King Pelennor.
Arthur challenges him and loses badly. Pelennor cleaves both Arthurs sword and body.

Merlin appears and tries to help him. He directs us to a lake, and takes a boat out to the middle of the lake with Arthur. A hand slowly ascends from the lakes center with a sword in hand. Arthur grips the sword and is completely healed. Excalibur has been drawn.

After this event, our travels continue. We arrive at Cirunchester to a court. A lady with a sword stuck in stone/something and asks the knights os the court to draw the sword.

After that there is a feast.
A Lady of the Lake appears at the feast, demanding that Arthur gives Excalibur back to her people. Arthur swiftly refuses, and the Lady of the Lake then proceeds to demand the head of a knight named Sir Balin, who has killed a Lady of the Lake already.

Within moments of the Lady saying those words, Sir Balin appears out of the crowd and kills the Lady.
King Arthur judges him guilty, and Balin is exiled, forever. Before he is escorted out, he takes the head of the Lady and flees the court. And because of Arthur previous command, no one may follow him. But Sir Lancior does, and so does a woman.

Later it is discovered that Sir Lancior died fighting Balin, and the woman jumped the the sword when she saw what had happened to her love.

After this King Arthur calls us out to 40 days of war.

Years 509and510
The dawn of Arthur

Saddness lies heavy on the court of Sarum Rock in the year of 509 as the deaths of Gwarddur and Eifion are still fresh in memory.

But the knighting of Robert along with Fachtna, Tarbh and Nai bring up the mood. As the most honoured and famous knight of the realm it is Selwyns plesaure to oversee the ceremony.

The year 510 is a year of many strange happenings. First of all, ser Brastias has called for tourney to be held in Londinium. The first of it’s kind in Logres and it has been declared that the winner of this tourney shall be crowned king of Logres.
Naturally this brings the newly knighted Nadders as well as some other persons of note, Elleain of Escavalon, Leodegrance, the centurion king of Malahaut, king Lot of Lothian and Orkney from the north, Escan of Glouchester, Earl Sannam of Bede, the newly appointed Earl Robert of course as well as Earl Gilbert of Hearthford.

With such a notable crowd the tourney kicks of with a jousting match that is won by king Elleain and the mood is set for the second day that is to be a melee.
The young Nadders fight bravely but are swiftly cut down by more experienced knights and everyone gets redy for the third and final day of the melee.
The preparations for the third day is a mess, ser Ector can’t seem to find his sword and his squire is nowhere to be found. Just as Selwyn is about to lend him his sword the poor squire, Wart, comes running with a strange sword he claims he found somewhere. Selwyn recognises it as the sword in the anvil in the stone that can only be drawn by the rightful king of Britain.
Merlin shows up to tell everyone the boy is actually named Arthur.
king_arthur_by_dimitriskoskinas.jpg
The bishop and the collegiat also arrive at the scene to ascertain the validity of Arthurs feat.
King Lot denounces the young boy and leaves Londinium proclaiming that no unknown young boy will ever rule over him.

By easter the collegium unanimosly vote to accept the boy-king Arthur as the new high king of all of Brittain, many notable knights swear fealty to the young man but the joy of finally having a new king is cut short as news of an army led by king Lot comes in and everyone scrambles to Camilliard where a short battle is held.
Some weeks later an other army approaches Carleon and everyone is once again of to defend the allies of Arthur.

Years507and508
The twelth and thirteenth year of the Interregnum

In the year 507, court in Sarum Rock is rather short but sweet. News of an alliance between Essex and Port almost overshadow the joy that comes from Corneus siege of Londonium.
Nanteleod claims he is at home, preparing for war but that turns out to be a ruse as the news of his invasion of Middenhall reach Salisbury in the fall. Shortly after the news of Corneus success with the siege of Londonium spread throughout the realm.

The Nadders lead a quiet year in the safety of the home.

The year of 508 start of on the wrong foot as the news of Jonahs illness followed by his death is recieved by the grieving Nadders. His two estates are divided between his two sons, Burcholm goes to Damh and Stapleford is left in the capable hands of Tarb.

The court of Sarum Rock that spring is visited by king Nanteleod asking for Salisburys aid in crushing king Cerdic once and for all.
The Nadders gladly agree and gather with him at the fields of Netley march where the battle is to be held.
The battle starts of badly with fierce opposition from the saxon forces and the loss of Gwarddur, his sacrifice inspire Eifion to take on a band of berserkers that sadly cut him down and almost take Selwyn as well. The death of king Nanteleod and Corneus is almost overlooked as the battle is lost due to Cornish forces falling upon the rear of Nanteleods army.

The tenth and eleventh year of the Interregnum

In these, the years 505 and 506 A.D…

In the year of our lord and saviour 505, court was held in Sarum Rock as customary. Among the notable aedlings was Cynric who officially adopted the title of Prince after claiming Cerdic as his father. He demanded Lady Ellens fealty but was denied and had to return home in shame.
Others attending were ser Ellain of Estragales and ser Lac.

King Nanteleod calls upon the realm to join his campaign against the filthy saxons of Essex and Angles, the Nadders proudly join his ranks and gain great honor in what is to be known as The Battle On Saint Crispins Day.

e5cbcc9b2d41f4f267253a5a1cc16801.jpg

King Nanteleods speech before the Battle of Herthford:

If we are marked to die, we are enough
To do our country loss; and if to live,
The fewer men, the greater share of honour.
God’s will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.
By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires;
But if it be a sin to covet honour,
I am the most offending soul alive.
No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England.
God’s peace! I would not lose so great an honour
As one man more, methinks, would share from me
For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!
Rather proclaim it, Silchetser, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart. His passport shall be made,
And crowns for convoy put into his purse.
We would not die in that man’s company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.
This day is call’d the feast of Crispian.
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is named,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say, “To-morrow is Saint Crispian.”
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say, “These wounds I had on Crispian’s day.”
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he’ll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words,
Nate the King, Bedford, and Somerset,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester,
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb’red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered,
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.

Further along the rode to Chillburn the warband ends up in Ryddershan, where Selwyn sees a familiar face, or rather a familiar shield. It was Sir Ector, a kinda poor knight.
After som discussion, Sir Ector joins the warband for 10 pounds.

After much ado traveling the ragband warband finally ends up in Chillburn, Sir Beige’s property and after thegroups hostile intentions are made clear, battle ensues soon thereafter.

After much ado struggling, Selwyn (and his mötley crue) is victorious, looting everything in sight. Eifion and Gwardur are “rescued” along the way.
